Abstract generation in progress

Due to the impact of the U.S. and Israel launching attacks on Iran on February 28, several Middle Eastern countries closed their airspace. By early March 1, three major airports in the region had ceased operations, resulting in widespread flight cancellations and passenger delays. According to the Associated Press, Israel, Qatar, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain have announced closures of their airspace, while the UAE government has implemented a “temporary partial closure” of its airspace. Data from U.S. flight tracking websites show that on the morning of February 28, at least 145 flights scheduled to fly to Tel Aviv, Dubai, and other cities diverted to airports in Athens, Istanbul, or Rome, with some aircraft returning to their origin. One flight departing from Philadelphia, USA, flew over Spain before turning back, and after 15 hours of flight, passengers returned to the starting point. (CCTV News)
