The first trading week of the Year of the Horse (February 24-27) saw positive performance across the three major A-share indices. The Shanghai Composite rose 1.98% over four trading days, the Shenzhen Component gained 2.80%, and the ChiNext Index increased by 1.05%. In terms of sectors, resource industries such as steel, non-ferrous metals, coal, electricity, oil and gas, and chemicals all advanced, with the price-increase themes performing particularly well.

In recent years, global AI computing power construction has been booming, leading to electricity shortages in data centers worldwide. Meanwhile, token consumption has significantly increased, further confirming the logic that “computing power ends with electricity.”

Last week, driven by news such as US tech giants committing to self-supply power, the National Energy Administration releasing a pilot list for new power system construction, and China’s weekly AI call volume surpassing that of the US, power stocks continued to strengthen.

On February 28, State Grid Corporation of China announced that during the 14th Five-Year Plan, it will strengthen the capacity of power grid resource allocation, aiming to commission 15 ultra-high-voltage direct current projects, increase inter-provincial transmission capacity by 35%, and more than double the regional power flexibility and mutual assistance capabilities.

CICC Research reports that the power shortages in Europe and the US, combined with domestic token exports of computing power, are expected to benefit power equipment companies. Guosheng Securities also believes that the further promotion of integrated computing and electricity construction could open new growth opportunities for green energy companies, recommending attention to related stocks.

According to incomplete statistics from Eastmoney, several listed companies responded to questions about power grids and related topics on interactive platforms last week:

Trina Solar stated on the platform that the company deeply services data centers and AI computing infrastructure, providing high-voltage prefabricated substation solutions for leading domestic internet and computing power companies such as Alibaba and the three major telecom operators. Its overseas business includes products like substations, which have been promoted to about 60 countries and regions worldwide, successfully winning major projects such as the Saudi National Grid.

Kehua Data said that in the field of direct current power supply, the company has developed a full range of high-voltage DC power solutions covering 240V to 800V, precisely matching the high-efficiency, high-density, and high-reliability power needs of next-generation AI computing power.

Yubang Power stated that the company mainly engages in R&D, manufacturing, and sales of smart electric meters, electricity consumption data collection terminals, and other smart power products. It also provides smart inspection, information technology services, and energy storage-related products, serving core clients such as State Grid and Southern Power Grid, and is an important supplier for smart grid construction.

Yangdian Technology revealed that the company’s export orders have seen some growth, mainly for products used in European power grid projects.
