U.S. stock index futures and Nikkei 225 futures open sharply lower

U.S. stock index futures opened lower on Monday, with Nasdaq and Dow futures down over 1%, and S&P 500 futures down more than 0.9%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 index futures fell 1.7%.
