According to the disclosure by the Central Bank of Russia, in 2025, Russian citizens transferred funds to approximately 4,600 crypto wallets controlled by scam gangs. The central bank stated that in 2025, a total of 7,087 cases of financial pyramids, fake brokers, and other fraudulent schemes were identified, with about 80% operating online, most of which raised funds through crypto assets and "money mules." The Russian Central Bank indicated that 84% of scammers used crypto assets for fundraising in 2025, up from 77% in 2024. About 1,500 institutions offered false crypto investment projects to investors. Regulatory authorities have ordered the blocking of approximately 21,500 websites and social media pages related to crypto scams. The Russian Ministry of Finance previously stated that the daily trading volume of crypto assets by Russian residents is approximately $648 million. (DL News)
