Vietnam will mandate the use of E10 biofuel nationwide starting June 2026, which will create a significant ethanol supply gap and drive trade towards BRICS countries such as Brazil. Since domestic ethanol production in Vietnam can only meet 40% of the annual demand of 1.5 million cubic meters, major distributors are upgrading infrastructure and seeking imports. This shift highlights the growth of South-South energy trade, and under broader regional energy policy adjustments and global supply chain pressures, Brazil has become a key supplier.
