Kenvue, formerly Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc., has agreed to a $4.7 million settlement in a class action lawsuit regarding its discontinued Neutrogena Skin360 device. The suit alleged violations of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) for unlawfully storing and collecting facial scans. BIPA protects individual privacy rights related to biometric data by requiring written consent and clear disclosure of data collection purposes and duration.
