I am sure that many of you have already heard of Carl Runefelt – this guy with the nickname 'The Moon' is everywhere on social media. He constantly posts about Bitcoin, luxury cars, dream vacation spots, and of course his cryptic trading tips. But what has been bothering me for a while: How real is this whole wealth actually?
The guy is from Sweden and has built his career as a crypto influencer quite cleverly. It all started after he worked as a cashier – not exactly the dream image of a millionaire. But in 2017, he began posting content, right at the moment when the Bitcoin hype was really taking off. With his unwavering confidence in Bitcoin, he quickly attracted a massive following, especially among emerging investors. Now he appears with big names and thus boosts his credibility in the crypto scene.
Now to the sources of income – here it gets interesting. YouTube and Instagram definitely bring him a lot of money. Advertising revenue, sponsored posts, affiliate links – these are the classic channels for influencers. Then, of course, Carl Runefelt has invested himself in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and makes that known. If he really bought early and held during the bull markets, a large part of his wealth could indeed come from these holdings.
In addition, there are NFT projects and various crypto ventures in which he is involved. That can be lucrative, but the volatility makes it hard to quantify the real value. And of course, he earns additional income through brand collaborations and exchange partnerships.
But here’s the catch: Just because Carl Runefelt constantly posts with super sports cars and luxury trips doesn’t automatically mean everything belongs to him. Many of these cars could be leased or rented specifically for content. That’s completely normal in the influencer industry. Without public financial documents, it’s just guesswork how much the guy is really worth.
The volatility of the crypto market makes things even more complicated. His reported wealth could drop by half tomorrow if Bitcoin crashes. Conservative estimates place his net worth somewhere between 2 and 10 million dollars, but that’s more of a rough guess based on his income sources and crypto holdings.
Conclusion: Carl Runefelt is definitely an influential figure in the crypto world, that’s beyond question. But whether his wealth is as impressive as his lifestyle suggests or if it’s just a well-crafted brand image – that remains a mystery. For us as followers and investors, the rule is: Always approach such claims of wealth with a healthy dose of skepticism, especially in a market as unpredictable as crypto.
