Iran Central Bank Confirms First Hormuz Strait Toll Received in 'Cash Foreign Exchange'

On April 24, the Central Bank of Iran confirmed that the first toll collected from vessels passing through the Hormuz Strait has been recorded in ‘cash foreign exchange’. Previously, there were reports that Iran was collecting the toll in the form of ‘cryptocurrency’. Earlier that day, the Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Parliament, Haji Babaei, stated that Iran had received the first toll for the Hormuz Strait and it has been deposited into the central bank account.
