【Global Times Report, Reporter Yan Peiyun】According to reports from Reuters and other media citing Iranian sources, Iran executed two members of the People’s Mujahedin Organization on the 4th, who were accused of planning attacks inside Iran.
Agence France-Presse reported that the two were found guilty of “participation in multiple terrorist activities with intent to incite rebellion,” and “carrying out sabotage/destructive activities aimed at overthrowing the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
The People’s Mujahedin Organization initially supported the 1979 Iranian Islamic Revolution, but later broke with the Iranian government and had carried out multiple attacks within Iran, which the Iranian authorities have designated as a terrorist organization.
