Iran Lawmaker Says Tehran Has Plan to Manage Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Parliament member Behnam Saeedi said Iran has developed a comprehensive plan to manage the Strait of Hormuz. Saeedi said the plan would require vessels to obtain Iran’s permission, pay security and licensing fees, and use only the name Persian Gulf in correspondence and commercial documents. Saeedi also said Israeli vessels would be barred and vessels from countries deemed hostile by Iranian security bodies would not be allowed to pass.
