Iran Denies New US-Iran Negotiations, Claims Trump 'Lied Again'

On April 22, Xinhua reported that in response to U.S. President Trump’s comments on the possibility of new negotiations between the U.S. and Iran on the 24th, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency stated that Trump ‘lied again’ and that Iran has not yet decided to participate in talks on the 24th. The report mentioned that Trump, in ‘contradictory remarks’ to the New York Post, indicated that the second round of talks with Iran could take place on the 24th. However, so far, Iran has not changed its plan to refrain from participating in negotiations. The Iranian government has not yet issued an official stance on extending the ceasefire.
