To help streamers better manage fan relationships and improve interaction efficiency, the Fan Group feature has been fully upgraded.
Streamers can freely share text and image posts, event updates, live stream previews, and other content in the group, enabling precise community management and content distribution, while increasing fan engagement and retention.
1. Fan Group Types
Gate Live provides a flexible fan group management system, supporting two types of groups: “Public” and “Private”.
(1) Public Group (Default)
Public groups are visible to all users and are suitable for early-stage user acquisition and exposure growth. Streamers can choose to enable join approval if needed.

- Open to all users, providing broader exposure and higher traffic acquisition efficiency
- Join approval can be enabled for balanced growth and basic user screening
- Supports invite links and QR codes for easier sharing and distribution
- Helps build an open and active community, driving new user conversion and rapid fan growth
(2) Private Group
Private groups use an invitation-based system. Official invite links are provided, and users can only join via links shared by the streamer. This is more suitable for building and managing core fan communities.

- Join only via invite links, ensuring more precise and higher-quality members
- Easier management of highly active and loyal core fans
Streamers can freely choose and combine different group types based on their growth stage and operational goals to meet diverse community management needs.
2. Creation Method
To ensure community quality and standardized operations, Gate Live uses a unified application process for fan group creation. Eligible streamers can apply following the required procedure.
- Eligibility: Streamers who have been live for more than 14 days can apply to create a fan group
- Application method: Contact Live Support via the platform’s “Chat” feature, submit a request, and receive 1-on-1 assistance
3. Ways to Invite Fans to Join
In addition to invite links and QR codes, the platform also provides multiple in-app entry points to help streamers efficiently guide fans into their groups during live streaming and daily operations.
Note: The following entry points are available only for “Public Groups”, and require users to be on app version v6.12.0 or above.
- Live Room Entry: During a live stream, viewers can tap “More / …” in the bottom-right corner of the live room, select “Fan Group”, and join directly.
- Profile Entry: Viewers can go to the streamer’s profile page and tap the message icon next to the Follow button to join the corresponding fan group.
4. Community Guidelines & Group Management
To maintain a healthy community environment and platform order, streamers must comply with the following rules and properly use group management tools.
Community Guidelines:
Follow platform regulations strictly. Posting or promoting external social media contact information or off-platform content (such as contact details or QR codes) is strictly prohibited.
Group Management:
Go to the “Community Info” page → click “Members” to manage group members, including removing users or assigning administrators.
