Forbes has recently disclosed an interesting development — Ant International is integrating AI and blockchain into the global payment system, and their moves are quite significant.

Their CEO Peng Yang shared quite a bit at the Singapore FinTech Festival. The most valuable might be their foreign exchange prediction model called Falcon: processed $1.5 trillion in transactions, with a prediction accuracy of up to 90%, directly reducing foreign exchange costs by 60%. If this number is real, it’s indeed quite aggressive.

On the technical front, they are making substantial progress. They developed an AI agent called Antom Copilot, which is said to help merchants automate the entire process from payment collection to settlement. More importantly, they are working with giants like Google, Mastercard, and Visa to establish AI payment protocols — if successful, this would significantly influence industry standards. They also have a SHIELD risk management system in operation.

Regulatory cooperation is also in progress. They participated in Singapore’s MAS Guardian Project and Hong Kong’s Monetary Authority Ensemble Project, aiming to incorporate compliance, AI, and blockchain into a regulatory framework for cross-border payments. This approach is quite clever: testing in a sandbox environment and then expanding outward.

Peng Yang’s phrase “post-internet technological revolution” sounds somewhat grandiose, but the core logic is straightforward: using technology to lower the barriers for cross-border payments for emerging markets and SMEs, while simultaneously rebuilding a cheaper settlement network.

Shifting from payment tools to infrastructure providers is a path many tech giants are taking. Can AI combined with blockchain truly transform traditional payment systems? Currently, technical demonstrations look fancy, but large-scale commercial use will depend on how accommodating regulators can be.

Ant is telling stories again, 90% accuracy? Haha, let's wait until it's actually used before judging.

90% accuracy rate? That's a joke, really敢吹啊 --- Falcon model numbers, why do I find it hard to believe --- Is it AI or blockchain? Can this combo punch through? --- Setting standards together with Google and Visa, quite an ambition --- Regulatory sandbox is a clever move, start small and verify before expanding --- Do they really want to help SMEs or just storytelling? --- 60% cost reduction? Only when it’s truly achieved is it a real deal --- The payment race is getting more competitive, everyone wants to build infrastructure --- Technical demos are flashy, but commercial implementation is the real challenge --- Cross-border payments do have room for imagination, just see who breaks through first

90% accuracy? Such bragging, won't regulators investigate? If Falcon's model could really cut costs by 60%, someone would have already followed suit. Ant is starting to hype again; let's wait until it truly lands. Setting standards with Visa and Mastercard? Laughable, Americans won't let you take the lead. It sounds impressive, but there's a huge difference between sandbox testing and real large-scale deployment. The idea in emerging markets is good, but regulation is the biggest hurdle. AI payment protocols sound awesome, but how many clauses can actually pass? Speaking of which, with $1.5 trillion in transaction data on hand, how much could this data be worth? Building a compliance framework is indeed much more difficult than just technological breakthroughs. Settlement networks are cheap, but can they ensure liquidity? That's the key.

90% accuracy? I just want to ask if Falcon, this model, can still perform so well in a bear market, instead of just saying it handled 1.5 trillion. Ant's move is indeed aggressive, but setting standards with giants like Visa and MasterCard... feels a bit overthinking. Will the Americans go for it? SHIELD system for wind control and risk prevention, Copilot for automated settlement—sounds good, but it might take ages before they can be commercially implemented. I'm familiar with the regulatory sandbox approach. Libra used to play the same way a couple of years ago. And in the end? It all depends on whether the central banks of various countries are willing to loosen up.

90% accuracy? Just listen to that; when it goes live, it's a whole different story.
