Tesla just hit a major milestone: a driver completed a full coast-to-coast journey across the United States using FSD (Full Self-Driving) v14 without a single manual intervention. This marks the first time such a feat has been achieved on Supervised v14.
Davis Moss piloted his Tesla across the entire continental span, letting the autonomous system handle every mile—no takeovers, no exceptions. It's the kind of real-world validation that Elon Musk has been promising since 2016 when he first laid out the vision for fully autonomous driving.
This breakthrough demonstrates significant progress in AI-driven automotive technology. Whether you're tracking innovation in autonomous systems or monitoring how AI capabilities are evolving in real applications, this coast-to-coast run without human override represents a tangible step forward in self-driving vehicle development.

According to the database, it has been 8 years from the "coming soon" in 2016 to the "finally achieved" in 2024. It has been 2557 days since the last promise of full autonomous driving, and the project team's pie-in-the-sky plans will eventually ferment. If one person makes a trip without issues, it is recommended to be listed in the Guinness World Records — the longest delayed project team. Waiting patiently for the flowers to bloom.

Damn, does the full cross-country trip across the United States really have no human intervention? If that's true, that's insanely awesome.
---
FSD v14 maxed out, but I still don't dare to sleep and let it drive...
---
Wait, is this really fully autonomous or just a marketing story?
---
Since 2016 until now, finally there's some progress to see.
---
Davis Moss is a real hero. I was nervous even sitting in the driver's seat.
---
Now autonomous driving stocks are bound to soar.
---
Not gonna lie, I was a bit shocked, but a straight highway at high speed doesn't mean Beijing's Fifth Ring Road.
---
The label "Supervised v14" still feels like a game of Tai Chi...

ngl, "no manual intervention" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence... technically speaking, what does "supervised" even mean here? feels like we're conflating autonomous with "mostly autonomous except when it isn't"

ngl This cross-continental test looks really impressive, but I still want to see how FSD reacts when encountering extreme situations on the road... Relying on just one successful run to say that autonomous driving is mature might be a bit premature.

Less than a thousand kilometers to takeover, now no need for cross-continental travel at all? Is this progress real?

ngl this time it's really not marketing, from coast to coast not a single takeover... this is the real deal.

Full zero custody? That takes some serious skill... But on the other hand, data never lies, so it's never too late to boast when it really reaches large-scale adoption.

ngl If this really runs completely without intervention, it's indeed impressive, but I still want to see the data... Is it truly zero oversight?

Wow, really running completely on autopilot with zero intervention? This can't be just bragging...

ngl, this V14 is really outrageous. I haven't touched the controller once from coast to coast... How incredible does it have to be to achieve that?
