Tonight, I am honored to be invited as a guest to the Fudan Alumni Annual Meeting. At the dinner table, there are alumni of various backgrounds: an older, wise ophthalmology professor and doctor, a young talent starting a business in optical instruments, a technical expert diligently researching and breaking through semiconductor restrictions, and a lawyer on the front lines defending the law in a law firm... When it was my turn, I could only quietly mention that I am committed to the public blockchain startup. An alumnus curiously asked whether the domestic policy environment supports this and how competitive it is in the industry. I shamefully replied that under the dual influence of policies and market conditions, I can only say I am struggling to persist. Although it is the only one remaining domestically, there is a huge gap compared to the world's top tier. Personally, I neither make money nor face significant personal pressure. The alumni expressed doubt and confusion about my persistence. I pondered and said: Do you all know WPS? It was left aside for many years and unused until recent years when the system required everyone to use WPS instead of Office. The alumni looked thoughtful. Persistence may be meaningless, but it’s important to keep a spark alive, ready to be used when needed... A free but useless soul—this is the teaching of our alma mater: dance freely with shackles on, doing the useless for the useful.
