According to the 2017 annual "Gates Notes" letter, dedicated to Buffett, Gates wrote: I remember the laugh we shared when we traveled together to Hong Kong and decided to eat at McDonald's. Buffett offered to pay, then he pulled out "discount coupons" from his pocket. It reminded us of his constant appreciation for winning deals.
