On March 2nd, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. armed forces will continue to strike Iran until all set objectives are achieved, and acknowledged that "the number of American service members killed may increase even further."
In a video posted on Sunday, Trump confirmed the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and reported that the U.S. and Israel carried out strikes on hundreds of targets within Iran, including facilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the air defense system.
Trump called on Iranian armed forces and police to surrender, saying: "Otherwise, you will lose all protection guarantees and even face the threat of death." He added: "Currently, military operations are ongoing in full force and will continue until we achieve all our goals." Additionally, Trump stated that the U.S. will definitely avenge the deaths of American service members.
