Part 2 – Blockstream and August 1, 2017 – the day BTC became a shitcoin

Part 2 of the series “Why BSV is still the real Bitcoin” 🔥August 1, 2017 is the date that changed everything in the Bitcoin world.
That’s when the biggest split in crypto history happened.
What actually went down?
❌Bitcoin had a scalability problem (only 7 transactions per second).
❌The community wanted bigger blocks (Bitcoin Classic, XT, Unlimited proposals).
❌Core developers + Blockstream (a hugely influential company) pushed SegWit + Lightning Network – off-chain solutions that changed Satoshi’s original protocol.
The result:
On August 1, 2017 a new chain was born – Bitcoin Cash (BCH) – with bigger blocks.
But BTC (with SegWit) kept the $BTC ticker and most of the market cap.
Here’s the truth:
✅The original Bitcoin (with Satoshi’s unchanged protocol and P2P cash vision) lost the ticker fight.
✅BTC became the alternative – a fork with altered rules, limited scalability, and off-chain fixes.
✅Real Bitcoin = Bitcoin SV (BSV) – the only network that never changed Satoshi’s rules and still delivers his full vision in 2026.
Blockstream won the narrative, but lost the soul of Bitcoin.
