#特朗普称伊朗战事接近尾声 Trump Says "War Will End Soon" Iran Proposes Conditions for Strait of Hormuz
On the 9th local time, U.S. President Trump held a press conference in Miami, Florida, stating that the military action against Iran will "end soon," but "not" within this week.
Trump also mentioned the timeline for military action against Iran, the navigation of the Strait of Hormuz and international energy security, and the selection of Iran's new Supreme Leader.
Trump said that if Iran affects global oil supplies, it will face even harsher strikes; he also stated that when the time is right, the U.S. Navy will escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump noted that international oil prices rose less than he expected, and he anticipated energy prices would increase even before initiating action against Iran. He said he would lift some oil-related sanctions to stabilize prices.
Regarding the attack on a primary school in Minab, southern Iran, Trump said the incident is still under investigation.
When discussing Iran's election of Mullah Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader, Trump expressed disappointment.
Additionally, Trump mentioned Venezuela, his call with Russian President Putin that day, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and issues related to Cuba.
After Trump's "firefighting" remarks, oil prices slightly retreated
Following the announcement that President Trump believed the "war with Iran is essentially over," international oil prices saw a significant decline. This news came about two hours before the official release during Trump's press conference on the evening of the 9th.
U.S. New York Mercantile Exchange April delivery light crude oil futures price
It is reported that during a phone interview, Trump said, "I think this war is basically over, almost. They no longer have a navy, communication systems, or air force." Trump also mentioned that the progress was much faster than his initial estimate of 4 to 5 weeks.
For example, before Trump's statement was released, the price of April delivery light crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange fluctuated around $94 per barrel. After the statement, the price briefly dropped to $82.9 per barrel.
Iran Sets Conditions for Some Countries Passing Through the Strait of Hormuz: Expel U.S. and Israeli Ambassadors
On the 10th local time, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that any Arab or European country that "expels Israeli and U.S. ambassadors" can "completely freely and legally pass through the Strait of Hormuz."
In the early morning of the 10th, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps responded to U.S. President Trump's comments on Iran's situation, saying that the end of the war will be decided by Iran.
A spokesperson for the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that Trump is trying to exert psychological pressure on Iran through lies and deception, "but Iran resists the invasion of the United States and Israel with courage and firm will," and "the end of the war will be decided by Iran."
