CBI Arrests Key Figure in $790M GainBitcoin Crypto Scam
India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Ayush Varshney, co-founder & CTO of Darwin Labs, at Mumbai airport for his alleged role in the massive GainBitcoin Scam worth $790M (₹6,600+ crore).
Investigators claim Darwin Labs built the platform infrastructure, including the investor portal, GBMiners pool, and crypto wallets, used in the scheme.
The operation allegedly promised 10% monthly Bitcoin returns, defrauding around 8,000 investors before payouts were shifted to low-value MCAP tokens.
The case is considered one of India’s largest crypto fraud investigations.
