Speaking of words that come true, I'm reminded of something that happened to a friend last year.

He was so exhausted from work that he casually complained one day, saying he really didn't want to go to work and wanted a couple days off.

The next day when he went out, he got hit by a car. Fortunately, it was only a minor fracture.

And sure enough, he ended up getting that break he wanted for a while.

Later, he himself said he'd never dare say things like that carelessly again.

Sometimes you wonder whether these kinds of things are just coincidences or if there's something a bit mystical about them.
