🔥Zhipu GLM Overseas Version Prices Increase Across the Board by Up to 140%, Community Controversy Over More Than Double Price Difference Between China and Abroad
Zhipu announced on April 11th that the overseas version of the GLM Coding Plan will see price increases of 80% to 140%. The Max monthly fee rises from $80 to $160, Pro from $30 to $72, and Lite from $10 to $18 (all at a 10% invitation discount price). The domestic price for the same Max package is 469 yuan (about $68), making the overseas version more than twice the price of the domestic version after the increase. Along with the API price adjustment of 10% coinciding with the release of GLM-5.1, this is Zhipu’s third price hike in 2026. Overseas developer Lex posted on X that this pricing strategy is too crazy, and in practical tests, it was found that the domestic version can be purchased via WeChat Pay or Alipay, and the API key is also usable overseas, with no regional restrictions…
