Looking to find solid crypto options that actually solve real problems? I've been digging into four projects that are doing very different things, and they're all worth considering if you're thinking about what to buy in 2026.

Let's start with Solana. It's basically the speed demon of blockchains—handles massive transaction volume with fees that are basically pocket change, often just fractions of a cent. That's why it's become the go-to for DeFi platforms, NFT markets, and gaming. The whole appeal is that it feels fast and cheap to use, which matters a lot when you're actually building apps or trading frequently.

Then there's Stellar, which is laser-focused on one thing: moving money across borders without the usual banking headaches. XLM is trading around $0.18 right now (up 8.63% today), and the whole point is making international payments dirt cheap and quick. If you care about remittances or connecting traditional finance with crypto, this is the play.

Monero takes a completely different angle—privacy is the entire game here. XMR sits around $372.88, and it's built so that nobody can trace who's sending what to whom. Every transaction is private by default, which is why some people see it as true digital cash. It's not about hype; it's about financial confidentiality.

BlockDAG is interesting because it's newer infrastructure that's already live and processing real volume—we're talking millions of blocks processed and over $1 billion in value moved. They're pushing 10,000 transactions per second with 2-second confirmations, and it's listed on multiple exchanges. The staking numbers suggest people are confident in what's coming next with their DEX and ecosystem expansion.

Solana's at $86.07 (up 1.54% today) and remains the performance leader for large-scale apps. If your priority is cheap crypto to buy that can actually handle real usage, SOL still delivers on that front despite past network hiccups.

The real thing here is that each project solves different problems. You've got payments (Stellar), privacy (Monero), speed and scale (Solana), and emerging infrastructure (BlockDAG). None of them are just speculative plays—they all have actual use cases. The question is which problems matter most to you as an investor.
