Brazil blocked access to Polymarket and Kalshi and banned derivatives tied to sports events, virtual gaming, political outcomes, and other non-economic benchmarks. Finance Minister Dario Durigan said the platforms violate betting regulations approved by Congress and are not legal or regulated in the country. Banco Central do Brasil said the measure is meant to protect investors and market integrity.
