The Kingdom of Bhutan has plans to build a 600-megawatt crypto mining farm in collaboration with Bitdeer Technologies Group. This step aims to provide Bhutanese citizens with opportunities to participate in the modern global economy. Bhutan is seen as a suitable place for Bitcoin mining as it has environmentally friendly and economical energy resources. The first 100 megawatt mining operations are expected to start in September, and this capacity is aimed to increase to 600 megawatts in the next three years. Bhutanese authorities stated that energy needs will be prioritized and mining operations will be closed during the winter months when power production is low.
