On February 9th, Jinshi Data reported that Drozdenko, the governor of Leningrad Oblast, Russia, stated on social media that a ship in the Ust-Luga port of the oblast had a technical accident. However, the vessel is moored at the dock, and the accident did not cause any injuries or the risk of oil product leakage. Currently, an investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the accident. According to reports, the ship was carrying 130,000 tons of fuel oil, and there were 3 explosions in the engine room. The hull has sunk and run aground. There are 24 crew members from Russia, Georgia, and Indonesia. The emergency department has set up oil containment booms, and no oil leakage has been found at present.
