MetaMask Clarifies: No Taxes Being Collected from Crypto Users
ConsenSys, the company behind crypto wallet MetaMask, has debunked reports claiming that MetaMask was collecting taxes from cryptocurrency users. On May 22, the company clarified to its 270,000 Twitter followers that these reports are entirely false and stem from a misinterpretation of MetaMask's service terms. ConsenSys made it clear that MetaMask's terms have no relation to taxing users' income; they are solely applicable to products and subscription plans. The company stated that MetaMask does not collect any taxes on crypto transactions and has not made any changes in this regard.
