IT House, March 13 — According to Business Insider today, Apple has entered a price range that was previously rarely explored with the MacBook Neo, attracting the attention of PC manufacturers.

During Tuesday’s earnings call, ASUS was asked by investors about the potential impact of the MacBook Neo. ASUS CFO Wu Changrong said, “Apple has traditionally adopted a high-end pricing strategy, so launching a product at a significantly lower price definitely caught the entire market by surprise.”

Wu Changrong believes that this product has some configuration limitations, such as only 8GB of RAM, which may restrict certain usage scenarios. “The MacBook Neo is more like a content consumption device rather than a typical mainstream laptop. Its positioning is somewhat close to a tablet because tablets are mainly used for viewing content.”

On the other hand, the lowest-configured laptop on ASUS’s official website, the ZenBook 14, also offers 16GB of RAM.

Apple positions the MacBook Neo as a more affordable product, aiming to make MacBooks accessible to more consumers worldwide. At the same time, Apple has also increased the prices of some high-end MacBook models.

Wu Changrong stated that all PC manufacturers are paying close attention to this trend and expect that competitive products targeting the MacBook Neo will soon appear in the market. “What the ultimate market competition will look like is still very hard to predict.”

According to previous reports by IT House, Tianfeng International Securities analyst Guo Mingchi forecasted that by 2026, the shipment volume of Apple’s MacBook Neo laptops could reach 4.5 to 5 million units. This data demonstrates Apple’s strong market appeal and will become a core driver of Apple’s performance growth in 2026.
