For those who grew up in families with average financial conditions, like me, many so-called "common sense" things are only learned after reaching your twenties.
For example, that crooked teeth need orthodontic treatment, scoliosis requires correction, and mild myopia can be greatly delayed during adolescence by using orthokeratology lenses.
Physical health maintenance and correction are most effective during the golden period before age 18. Similarly, being in a multilingual environment makes language learning much easier for children, and such environments also promote brain development.
Even though I’m now undergoing these corrective treatments to become healthier and am starting to learn some less common languages, perhaps it’s a bit perfectionist. Occasionally, late at night, I still feel regret that, due to objective conditions, I couldn’t do the right things at the right time, only realizing the need to make up for it after growing older.
Poverty limits perspective and knowledge, but thanks to the past poverty, I now understand how precious opportunities are, and how unfortunate it is to miss good timing. It’s just like investing—doing the right thing at the right time. For example, if you started with SOL memes at the early stage, almost anything you bought went to 100M, but if you only started sweeping SOL meme chains during the downtrend, even reaching 10M is hard.
