1. Friday Market Analysis and Tomorrow’s Trading Strategy
On Friday, the major index opened lower and closed higher, rising 0.39%. The Shenzhen market saw the ChiNext Index fall by 1%. Hot sectors such as non-ferrous metals + rare earths, electricity, Huawei Ascend + computing power leasing were relatively strong, while semiconductor chips, PCB + fiberglass + copper foil, optical modules, insurance, etc., weakened. About 60% of stocks rose, with 75 limit-up boards, including 2 one-word limit-ups, and 20 stocks up more than 10 cents. There were 18 stocks that hit the limit and then fell back. No-ST stocks hit the limit down, with 49 stocks falling more than 5%.
The market opened sharply lower due to external influences but actually showed a rebound trend. The main index and many stocks opened at their lows. Overall, the atmosphere for individual stocks was decent, mainly because the extreme polarization was not as high as in previous days. This reflects an ecosystem where, after being dominated by quantitative trading, opening lower can sometimes be better than opening higher. Every time the market opens high, it’s too easy to rush ahead, while a lower open is more conducive to capturing potential price differences. Hot sectors still rotate quickly, with many sectors within a single day. The better-performing sectors are often those that underperformed or were not hot the previous day. The sectors that were hot the day before, like hardware for computing power, are now showing significant divergence, while domestic computing power is strengthening, and some applications are emerging.
Daily sector rotation is so rapid that it’s hard to predict the next trend. You can position yourself in expected themes, but the timing of ignition is random, driven by news and small narratives. Over the weekend, a major event occurred: the US and Israel attacked Iran, which obviously increases market unpredictability. It’s now all about Trump’s timing for rises or falls. Logically, this should boost oil and resource stocks, but since the war expectation has been overhyped for a while, further hype after the conflict starts is unnecessary. Those stocks may face quick profit-taking, and tomorrow’s buyers might be more passive. Sentiment-wise, it’s bearish for the market, but there’s no need to panic. The black swan that has been digested for so long isn’t truly terrifying. In a few days, it might even create more opportunities than normal. In the short term, it just makes rhythm management more difficult. The specific rhythm needed will depend on real-time judgment. After a low open in the morning, the market is likely to follow its own path, with opportunities and risks remaining structural.
