X product lead and Solana advisor Nikita Bier clarified that this feature is not specifically targeted at prediction markets. The “Paid Collaboration” tag is used to label promotional content. The core value of X is to provide “authentic human engagement.” Although the platform encourages creators and brands to engage in commercial collaborations on X, undisclosed promotional content can harm the product’s integrity and weaken user trust in the content.
The new feature will help creators meet regulatory compliance requirements and, more importantly, enhance transparency with fans by clearly distinguishing commercial collaborations from organic content. He specifically mentioned, “I like prediction markets.”
