The Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Michael Selig, has appointed former federal prosecutor David Miller as the head of enforcement. Miller previously served as a litigation partner at Greenberg Traurig and Morgan Lewis, focusing on commodities, securities, and digital asset cases, and has nearly 10 years of experience at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. Department of Justice. Recently, both the CFTC and SEC have faced questions regarding staffing and enforcement intensity. Selig stated that Miller will focus on combating fraud, abuse, and market manipulation, rather than setting policy directions through enforcement. (The Block)
