The Board has promoted Barry Balfe from his position as Chief Operating Officer to Chief Executive Officer, effective from October 2025. In early 2007, Balfe took charge of ICON’s US FSP (Full Service Provider) business before advancing to oversee European FSP operations. Recognizing his strategic capabilities, the company elevated him to the executive leadership team in 2019, where he held successive presidencies of Functional Services and subsequently Pharma Solutions, both critical business units for the organization.
