According to monitoring data, by the end of February, Guangxi had only one sugar mill in operation, a significant decrease compared to the previous year. It is estimated that the sugar production in Guangxi for February will be between 1.6 and 1.8 million tons, higher than 1.35 million tons in the same period last year, reaching the highest level in nearly ten crushing seasons. All sugar mills in Yunnan had started crushing by February, with no mills currently idle. Due to increased sugarcane production, February sugar output is expected to reach 580,000 tons, up from 560,000 tons last year. The data center forecasts that the national sugar production for the 2025/26 crushing season will be 11.76 million tons, a 5.4% increase year-on-year. (National Grain and Oil Information Center)
