Brazil’s GDP Hits 20th Straight Quarter of Expansion

Brazil’s GDP expanded 1.8% year-on-year in Q4 2025, marking its 20th straight quarter of growth. Agriculture and livestock surged 12.1%, led by tobacco (29.8%), oranges (28.4%), and wheat (3.7%). Services grew 2.0%, driven by information and communication (7.1%). Industry rose 0.6%, with extractive industries up 12.0% on higher oil and gas output, and utilities up 1.0% on stronger residential energy demand. Manufacturing fell 2.0%, the third straight decline, dragged by petroleum derivatives, autos, metals, and chemicals. Construction dropped 2.9%, reflecting weaker employment, lower input output, and softer building materials sales.
