Wang Yi Talks with Omani Foreign Minister Badr

Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, spoke with Omani Foreign Minister Badr on the 2nd.

Badr stated that under Oman’s mediation, the Iran-U.S. negotiations have made unprecedented progress, but it is regrettable that the U.S. and Israel have abandoned the existing negotiations and launched a war. If this war continues, it will lead to more casualties and property damage. All parties should work together to push for an early ceasefire and end the fighting. As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China has always adhered to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and is a reliable positive force. In this sensitive and complex moment, we look forward to China playing an important role. Oman will do its best to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in Oman.

Wang Yi said that Oman has actively mediated to promote Iran-U.S. negotiations and has made great efforts to maintain regional peace, which China appreciates. Against the backdrop of progress in Iran-U.S. talks, the U.S. and Israel deliberately provoked a war against Iran, which clearly violates the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. China believes the immediate priority is to stop military actions immediately, prevent the conflict from spilling over further, and avoid the situation from becoming irretrievable. China urges all parties to work together on this, support Oman in staying true to its original intentions, and continue efforts to promote peace. China is also willing to play a constructive role, including advocating fairness at the UN Security Council, striving for peace, and stopping the war.

Wang Yi emphasized that China values the legitimate concerns of Gulf countries and supports their efforts to safeguard sovereignty and national security. Spillover of the war is not in the fundamental or long-term interests of Gulf countries. We hope Gulf nations will strengthen independence, oppose foreign interference, develop good neighborly relations, and enhance unity and cooperation, truly taking control of their own future and destiny.

Wang Yi Talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Alireza Enayati

Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Alireza Enayati on the 2nd.

Enayati briefed on the latest regional situation, stating that the U.S. launched a war against Iran during the Iran-U.S. negotiations for the second time. Although positive progress has been made in the talks, U.S. actions violate all international laws and cross Iran’s red lines. Iran has no choice but to defend itself with full effort. China has publicly expressed a stance of fairness and justice, hoping to continue playing a positive role in preventing escalation of regional tensions.

Wang Yi reiterated China’s principled position on the current Iran situation, emphasizing that China values its traditional friendship with Iran, supports Iran in defending sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and national dignity, and supports Iran in safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests.

Wang Yi said that China has urged the U.S. and Israel to immediately cease military actions to prevent further escalation and the spread of conflict throughout the Middle East. We believe Iran can maintain stability under the current severe and complex circumstances, pay attention to neighboring countries’ reasonable concerns, and ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in Iran. Enayati expressed Iran’s willingness to do its best to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and institutions.

Wang Yi Talks with French Foreign Minister Berr

Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, spoke with French Foreign Minister Berr on the 2nd.

Berr introduced France’s views on the current Middle East situation, emphasizing that France and China, as permanent members of the UN Security Council, bear special responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. The U.S. and Israel’s military actions against Iran did not seek UN Security Council approval. All parties should work together to de-escalate the situation and resolve issues like Iran’s nuclear program through negotiations. China maintains good relations with Iran and Gulf countries and looks forward to working with China to help ease regional tensions.

Wang Yi reaffirmed China’s principled stance, emphasizing that the international community should oppose any violations of international law, avoid double standards, and that major powers should not attack other countries at will using military superiority. The world should not revert to jungle law. The Iran nuclear issue should ultimately be resolved through political and diplomatic means. China hopes France will adopt an objective and fair stance, remain calm and rational, and work with China to promote de-escalation and safeguard the fundamental norms of international relations.
