Neo 2025 Financial Report: The treasury holds approximately 41.17 million NEO and 40.08 million GAS, as well as 1,112 BTC

On March 3rd, the Neo Foundation released the FY2025 financial report and insights, covering Neo’s financial status since its inception, as well as investment summaries, asset management, expenditures, and Neo’s restructuring plans for the next phase. Over the past 12 years, Neo started with approximately $5.2 million and, after ups and downs, achieved significant returns, with total high-liquidity cash inflows nearing $200 million. The appreciation of crypto assets contributed notably, with the treasury assets reaching a historic high of about $461 million.

In terms of asset management, by the end of 2025, the Neo treasury held approximately 41.17 million NEO and 40.08 million GAS. Converting some GAS to NEO can recover most of the initial principal and generate a net surplus of about 2.57 million GAS. High-liquidity assets also include roughly 1,112 BTC, mainly from internal consolidation and NGC settlements. Currently, the treasury mainly holds high-liquidity assets, maintaining overall health and self-sufficiency.

The expenditure structure shows: 58% for operational costs, 27% for community and ecosystem support, and 14% for investment activities. Neo’s restructuring plans for the next phase focus on: shifting governance to a community-driven model, making decisions based on capability and merit to reduce reliance on founders; increasing transparency by starting to publish annual financial reports, independent audits, public treasury wallet addresses, and replacing single-signature custody with multi-signature; relocating operational focus to Hong Kong to optimize regulatory environment; upgrading the technology stack to embrace non-NeoVM compatible chains; and strategically expanding into emerging fields, especially AI, with the upcoming release of “Neo’s AI Strategy.”
