The Transport Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government announced today (2nd) that starting from March 16, the online appointment system for the test-exempt issuance of Hong Kong driving licenses will be fully implemented, with additional appointment slots. The service will be expanded to all four licensing offices to further facilitate applicants and make more efficient use of resources. The “Electronic Same-Day Processing” arrangement will also be discontinued from March 16.
From March 16, the appointment quota for the test-exempt issuance service will be increased to a total of 550 slots per working day and expanded to all four licensing offices. To better manage the flow, the test-exempt issuance services at the Kowloon Licensing Office located at the Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, the Kwun Tong Licensing Office at the East Kowloon Government Offices, and the Shatin Licensing Office at the Shatin Government Offices will be newly designated to handle applications submitted with Mainland Chinese driving licenses. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Licensing Office at the United Centre in Admiralty will continue to process applications submitted with driving licenses issued by all recognized countries and regions (including Mainland China).
