International oil prices surged significantly on the 5th. By the close of trading, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil futures for April delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose by $6.35, closing at $81.01 per barrel, an increase of 8.51%. Brent crude oil futures for May delivery in London increased by $4.01, closing at $85.41 per barrel, up 4.93%.

According to the American Automobile Association, the average gasoline price in the United States has risen to $3.25 per gallon. This is the highest level in 11 months, according to U.S. sources. (CCTV News)
