Tally, a platform providing governance tools for over 500 DAOs including Uniswap, Arbitrum, and ENS, announced it will shut down after 6 years of operations. Tally CEO Dennison Bertram stated that the strict regulatory environment under SEC Chairman Gary Gensler during the Biden administration previously drove projects to adopt decentralized governance through DAOs to mitigate legal risks; however, the current regulatory environment has become more lenient, making DAO governance no longer a necessary choice, thereby reducing demand for governance tools.
