One year after the registration of “Huawen Auto,” Qijing’s first model is officially launched.

“Huawei Qiankun and GAC jointly incubated a high-end intelligent brand named ‘Qijing’ in Chinese, with the English name ‘AISTALAND.’ The first model, ‘Qijing GT7,’ is now available for blind pre-order,” said Liu Jiaming, CEO of Qijing Auto, on March 17.

According to sources, in addition to the globally top-spec 896-line laser radar released earlier this month, the Qijing GT7 will also incorporate a Level 3 architecture similar to the Zunjie S800 and Wenjie M9, and will debut with a new generation Kirin battery jointly developed by Qijing, Huawei Qiankun, and CATL.

The project codenamed “GH” for Qijing began in January last year. At that time, GAC Group announced plans to invest in establishing the GH project company with a registered capital of 1.5 billion yuan. The project aims to deeply integrate the strengths of Huawei and GAC through joint definition and design, collaborating across product development, marketing strategies, and ecosystem services to create a new automotive brand based on a completely new architecture and leading technology, launching a series of intelligent new models.

Two months later, Huawen Automotive Technology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. was registered. On the eve of the Guangzhou Auto Show that year, Qijing was launched as the first brand of Huawei Qiankun’s “Jing Series.” Industry insiders close to Qijing revealed that Huawei Qiankun was deeply involved in brand integration marketing, user experience, and communication.

The aforementioned insider also disclosed that Huawei Qiankun has stationed a team of 800 people in Guangzhou, working jointly with Qijing for over a year. Jin Yuzhi, CEO of Huawei’s Smart Automotive Solutions BU, stated that Huawei Qiankun has invested resources in multiple areas for Qijing, including Huawei Qiankun’s full suite of products, styling, R&D, marketing teams, as well as Huawei’s IPD (Integrated Product Development) and IPMS (Integrated Product Marketing and Sales).

“Huawei has had hundreds of people working on ‘Qijing’ on-site for a long time. To succeed quickly in this competitive market, both sides must bring their maximum resources and sincerity,” an industry analyst commented. Given the continuous increase in market share of ‘Hua-Brand’ vehicles, this collaboration is crucial for both Huawei Qiankun and GAC Group.

In addition to GT7, Huawen Auto applied for trademarks in February this year for the classes of transportation, including GT, GT8, and G79. Liu Jiaming revealed that over the next three years, Qijing will launch multiple new models in partnership with Huawei Qiankun, with the second model positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, expected to be released within this year.

Industry experts generally believe that Huawei Qiankun will use Qijing as a starting point to further expand its “circle of friends” and upgrade its cooperation model. Among these, the new full-size SUV brand “Yijing,” jointly developed by Dongfeng Motor and Huawei Qiankun, will be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April. Meanwhile, Avita Technology stated that the company is promoting the Hi Plus model with Huawei, with nearly a thousand team members already stationed at Avita’s Chongqing headquarters, and the first co-created product is expected to be released in the second half of this year.
