Abstract generation in progress

Reporters learned from the Chongqing–Wanzhou Railway Company that on April 3, at the construction site of Fuling North Station in Fuling District, Chongqing, the first pair of 500-meter-long rails was steadily laid from a new multi-functional long-rail laying vehicle, marking the official start of track-laying work for the newly built Chongqing-to-Wanzhou high-speed railway. Chongqing–Wanzhou high-speed railway is an important part of China’s “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed rail network’s Bao (Yin) Sea–Jingkun corridor, and is also an important supplement to the Yangtze River high-speed rail corridor. The line starts from Chongqing East Station, passes through Nan’an District, Banan District, Fuling District, Fengdu County, and Zhong County, and ends at Wanzhou North Station. The total length of the main line is 251 kilometers, with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. A total of five stations are set along the line: Chongqing East, Fuling North, Fengdu North, Zhong County, and Wanzhou North. The total track-laying mileage for this phase (including station tracks) is about 540 kilometers. (CCTV News)
