A financial employee at a South Korean company sentenced to 3 years in prison for embezzling 570 million won to trade cryptocurrencies

ME News Report, April 23 (UTC+8), a company finance employee in South Korea in his twenties was sentenced to three years in prison by the Busan District Court for embezzling company funds for cryptocurrency investments. The court found that between 2021 and 2025, he transferred company funds to his personal account approximately 680 times, totaling about 570 million Korean won, and used the related funds for cryptocurrency investments, overseas travel, and living expenses; he also forged a company deposit trust balance certificate to conceal the crime.
