I noticed an interesting detail in the calendar. Today is April 5th — a day that holds double historical significance for cryptocurrency supporters.

First, it’s the birthday of Satoshi Nakamoto. The creator of Bitcoin listed this date in his profile on P2P Foundation, and if these data are correct, he turns 51 today. But here’s where an interesting coincidence lies.

On the same day, in 1933, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order No. 6102, which prohibited Americans from owning gold. Seriously — the government simply confiscated the precious metal from citizens. And many in the crypto community see this not just as a coincidence of dates.

If we recall Satoshi Nakamoto’s philosophy and what he fought against when creating Bitcoin, this parallel becomes even more symbolic. A decentralized currency that is not controlled by the state, which cannot simply be banned or confiscated — the entire idea of Bitcoin is about avoiding situations like the gold ban of 1933.

I don’t know if this was a deliberate choice by Satoshi Nakamoto or just a fortunate coincidence, but it looks like a symbolic gesture against government control over money. That’s the story.
