ME News Report, April 13 (UTC+8), Hong Kong police announced on the “Guardian” platform that a woman in Hong Kong was scammed in a crypto scam, losing over 2 million HKD. The scammer actively followed a woman in her fifties on Instagram and initiated contact through comments, quickly establishing a romantic relationship with warm messages. They then claimed to be a “crypto investment expert” and lured her into a trap. The scammer first persuaded the victim to transfer 40k HKD as a fee to open an investment website account, then asked her to go to physical exchange stores seven times to convert cash into USDT, and transferred the USDT to the scammer’s electronic wallet. Once the funds were received, the scammer immediately disappeared. (Source: Foresight News)
