I just found out that the Web3 Foundation is making a major change to its strategy. Basically, they are reorganizing their priorities and transferring several projects to other teams to better focus on what really matters: community support and technological infrastructure.
What’s interesting is that among the projects being moved are quite significant ones like Polkadot governance, the Polkadot Wiki, and the JAM Award. They are also passing the knowledge base, Kusama Vision, and all developer documentation to other hands.
Ultimately, this makes sense. The foundation recognizes that for the Web3 ecosystem to continue growing healthily, it cannot try to keep everything centralized. By distributing these projects, they ensure that each initiative receives the specific support it needs and that Web3 as a whole develops in a more decentralized and sustainable way.
This decision reflects a maturity in how they understand Web3 governance. It’s not just about transferring responsibilities but about building a more resilient ecosystem where different organizations can specialize. Personally, I think this is the right move for Web3 to keep advancing without relying too much on a single foundation. That’s what Web3 should be, right?
