Trump Nominates New Chair for White House Council of Economic Advisers
On April 22, U.S. President Trump nominated Christopher Ferrie to serve as the Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, filling the vacancy left by former Chair Stephen Moore, who will take a position on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve in 2025. This nomination has been submitted for approval by the U.S. Senate. Ferrie is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Chicago, holding a Ph.D. in economics. He previously served as a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and is currently a professor of economics at the University of Minnesota, specializing in macroeconomic theory, incentive mechanisms, and inequality game theory.
