Just caught wind that Citrea is making a serious move into South Korea today with their first community event in Seoul. Pretty interesting timing given how active the Korean market is with crypto.

For those not familiar, Citrea is building a Bitcoin layer-2 rollup solution using zero-knowledge technology. Basically they're trying to solve Bitcoin's throughput and cost issues without compromising on security. They went live on mainnet back in January, so this Seoul event is them expanding beyond the initial launch phase.

What caught my attention is that South Korea is genuinely one of the top crypto markets globally, and they've got a really sophisticated developer community. Makes sense why Citrea would prioritize expanding there. The Korean market has always been early to adopt new scaling solutions.

From a technical standpoint, they're using zk-STARKs for their rollup design, which is pretty solid for scalability and security. The fact that they recently formed the Citrea Foundation also signals they're thinking long-term about decentralized governance rather than just quick gains.

Seoul meetup with their co-founder presenting, so they're clearly putting resources into community building. If they can capture even a portion of the Korean developer mindshare, this rollup could become a major player in the Bitcoin layer-2 space. Worth keeping an eye on how this expansion plays out.
