CryptoWorld Net News reports that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy has laid more mines in the Strait of Hormuz this week. On Thursday, President Trump ordered the U.S. Navy via social media to sink any Iranian ships laying mines without hesitation. The new mines in the strait could exacerbate what the International Energy Agency (IEA) describes as the largest oil supply disruption in global market history, with its scale even exceeding the oil crisis of the 1970s. This is the second time Iran has laid mines in this strait since the outbreak of the war. It is still unclear whether all the mines from the first round have been found and cleared. U.S. officials say the United States knows how many new mines Iran has laid, but they refused to disclose the specific number(s). The White House declined to comment on intelligence-related matters.
