Under the ceasefire, Lihnan village is still being bulldozed and leveled; negotiations instead intensify domestic tensions

Jin10 Data April 24 news — The latest announced ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel is certainly worth welcoming, but for example, there is no commitment that Israel will stop dismantling and demolishing houses in villages in southern Lebanon. Since the ceasefire took effect, the Israeli military has been turning these villages into flat ground. We hear the Lebanese ambassador say that Lebanon put forward this request, but that request was not agreed to. What we hear from this meeting is actually just empty talk. These issues deepen divisions within Lebanon, because not everyone supports direct peace negotiations with Israel. Therefore, when you hear Trump say that the Lebanese president and the Israeli prime minister will hold a meeting, it actually intensifies tensions within Lebanon.
